Andy Livengood wandered into an improv theatre to see a friends show and became hooked for life. He is a graduate of the Theatre 99 training program (Charleston, SC) and has studied at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre (NY) and The Annoyance Theatre (Chicago).
For 8 years he regularly performed at Theatre 99 with the groups CATS HUGGING CATS, Human Fireworks, and Clutch. He was voted Charleston’s Best Comic in 2010 and has written for the sketch comedy groups Maximum Brain Squad and This is Chucktown. His one man show, The Christmas will be Televised, was voted Best Play in Charleston in 2011 and has been performed in theatres all over the south east. Andy was also featured on Kevin Allison’s (The State) RISK Storytelling Podcast.
Andy loves teaching improv as much as he loves performing. He was the Level 1 teacher at Theatre 99 and has taught sold out workshops up and down the east coast.
Andy also works behind the scenes. He often runs lights and sound for other shows. He did sound design for the off Broadway production of The Banana Monologes (winner, Outstanding Sound Design, Midtown International Theatre Festival 2011). He has also ran tech for such national touring acts as The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre Touring Company, The One Man Star Wars Trilogy, and Aziz Ansari’s Flashing Lights Tour.
